Dorothy Helmrich (mezzo-soprano)
The Grinke Trio: Frederick Grinke (violin); Florence Hooton (violoncello); Dorothy Manley (pianoforte)
(Accompanied by the Composer)

This evening Dorothy Helmrich is broadcasting for the first time since her return from a world tour that took her to Poland, the Baltic States, Scandinavia, Holland, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and India. 'I have sung before every conceivable type of "mike"' she says, 'and in every kind of studio, from those of the BBC to the heavily draped tomblike affairs still to be met with in certain countries. But I enjoy broadcasting in all circumstances.'
Albert Mallinson, whose songs she is singing, is one of the most individual of modern English song-composers.

(First performance in England)
