Every year between 150 and 200 children die following physical abuse or neglect in their own homes. Thousands more are found to be at risk. As Parliament prepares to debate radical changes in the laws to protect children, this series follows one of the NSPCC's Child Protection Teams as they investigate cases of abuse, neglect and damage. By 'putting the children first', they often have to decide between keeping the family together or risking the trauma of enforced removal.
