Led by Marie Wilson
Conducted by Joseph Lewis
H. H. Brookes was born in Norwich. He is the elder son of the late H. J. Brookes , who was one of the leading lights of Norwich musical life and who in his early days was associated with Elgar. Although the son has already made a name for himself as a composer, his real profession is that of assistant accountant in an insurance office at Norwich. A few months ago Joseph Lewis gave the first broadcast performance of Brookes's orchestral suite ' Three Midsummer Dances '. His latest composition, Norvic is a processional march named after the city of his birth and is dedicated to Sir Henry Holmes , a local patron of music.
