Visiting her brother in New York, Ann Carter is dismayed to discover that he is not a millionaire as she hoped. In fact he works as a butler. Luckily his boss is a famous and wealthy composer. Equally luckily, Ann is blessed with a lilting soprano voice. Now all she has to do is convince Charles Gerard that she can be a Broadway star.
