In the second of their Proms, this exciting American orchestra opens with Shostakovich's single-movement oratorio-symphony - a paean to the Russian October Revolution. This is followed after the interval by Beethoven's great choral ode to brotherhood and joy. Presented by Stephanie Hughes.
