Marking the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Richard Dimbleby Cancer Fund, the event includes quotations from Dimbleby's letters, diaries, radio and television scripts, alternating with choral and orchestral music including William Walton 's Violin Concerto (first movement)
Te Deum Laudamus (from the coronation of 1953) film music from Hamlet and Henry Vand an unperformed section of his film score for The Battle of Britain.
Both Dimbleby and Walton, who never met, reflected the splendour of great public occasions, and both spoke for the nation in times of sorrow or of war.
