THESE talks are intended to explain the part played by Great Britain in establishing the present world economic order and her position in relation to the present crisis. Mr. Hammond continues his detailed survey of this country's rise through the centuries to a place of dominating power in commerce and industry. In this, his third talk, ho deals more particularly with tho strong financial advantage over her continental rivals with which Britain emerged from the Napoleonic wars, and which turned London into the centre of tho world's banking.
