Among the many strange and wonderful creatures of the Galapagos Islands -flightless cormorants, boobies, pelicans and penguins - the most extraordinary are surely the marine iguanas. These lizards are three feet long and can still be seen in vast colonies, several hundreds together, on some of the islands.
