Ludovic Kennedy introduces this weekly programme on the expanding world of leisure.
All at Sea
Every Sunday in summer the fifty-year-old schooner Hoshi sets sail from Salcombe harbour manned by different members of the Island Cruising Club. This week they include an American airline pilot, a farmer, an engineer, an R.A.F. officer, and a civil servant. But the cook, the mate. and the skipper are always the same -and all three are women: a unique boat with a unique crew.
The Marathon Men
They run to work in the morning. they run during their lunch hour, and Then they run home in the evening. They are the Marathon men, and they are not happy unless they have clocked up 100 miles a week. There are more of them in Britain than in any other country. Is this a case of mad dogs and Englishmen...?
