Pets and Vets: Breeding

on BBC Two England

Introduced by Jack Pizzey
The Kennel Club of Great Britain recognises and defines 111 different breeds of dog. No other domesticated species has been bred to so great a divergency of shape, size, and character.
Selective breeding of dogs and the development of miniature and toy varieties can cause weaknesses and congenital defects.
Breeders and the veterinary profession are now uniting to try to correct these problems.
