1/2. Bob Geldof shares his observations from a recent inspiring visit to Africa.
Talking to journalist Paul Vallely - who co-authored Geldof's autobiography - the poverty-relief guru discusses the significant role of faith among Africans, who are deeply religious across strong traditional, Christian or Muslim beliefs. This first part argues - contrary to most Western thinking - that Africa is at once modern and traditional, and looks at the roles of voodoo and traditional healing and the belief in an invisible world. With music by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Youssou N'Dour and Fela Kuti.
