In 1979, 30 whales died and three million dollars were lost in wrecked nets and lost catches off the Atlantic coast of Canada. David ATTENDOROUGH reports from Newfoundland on the causes and the attempts that were made to find a solution to the head-on collision between this endangered species and desperate fishermen.
