An important concern of the farmer is the feeding of his animals, and in modern times special research institutes such as the Rowett Institute near Aberdeen have been set up to discover the best diets for farm animals.
This programme will discuss some of the achievements of these special institutes of agricultural research, and describe how, through experiments on the diet of animals, important discoveries in connection with human diet have also been made.
