3: Heather Wilkins is 15 and hates school. She wants to leave and be a hairdresser but her careers teacher rejects the idea, wishing her to join the Army Catering Corps. Both ideas are dashed when the Education Act raises the school leaving age to 16. Heather must endure one more year's education.
