Hitler - A Film from Germany

on BBC Two England

In four parts
2: A German Dream
With a small cast, an artificial style, and a wealth of allusions. this is an attempt to escape from the Hollywood myth, and to re-examine Hitler's effect on modern German history.
In the producer Syberberg's opinion, the Germans, in supporting Hitler, thought they were following traditional values. By denying their part they deny these values, the romantic and imaginative in their history, and are left only with a sterile materialism - Hitler's legacy.
