Hear and Now

on BBC Radio 3

As an upbeat to the coming week's programmes from Amsterdam,
Verity Sharp presents highlights from this year's Gaudeamus New Music Week, partly a festival and partly a composition prize for composers aged under 30. The
Gaudeamus Foundation has actively supported such schemes for nearly half a century and in between the works on offer there are conversations with composers, performers and the Gaudeamus team about how the event has developed and what it offers composers today. With music from Australia, Italy, Spain, Britain, Japan, Sweden and the Netherlands played by leading Dutch ensembles.
