Introduced by Geoff Hamilton and Gay Search
Once the lawn and hard landscaping are complete the new garden really begins to take shape and by early June it is time for planting. In a small garden it is important to select plants which will provide year round interest and, with cost in mind, it is just as important to plant them correctly especially in the heavy clay soil of the First Time Garden.
Most gardens offer a wide range of different growing conditions - dry shade, north-or south-facing borders and acid or limey conditions - so Geoff and Gay advise on which plants to use.
