Fourth of a six-part series looking at how noted architects can transform neglected and unfashionable areas.
Tonight, Sir Norman Foster puts his thoughts into practice. Adamant that all design - from furniture to public space - should bear people in mind, he sets about creating a new living environment for mentally-ill residents at Bellsdyke Hospital near Falkirk. The design has to take into account the health authority's meagre funds, the sensitivity of the residents to their surroundings, and their care needs.
