F. Scott Fitzgerald and 'The Last of the Belles'

F. Scott Fitzgerald 's autobiographical short story The Last of the Belles fictionalises his first meeting with his wife Zelda. This play within a play, made for American television, portrays Fitzgerald with his wife and child in 1928, when he was about to write the story - and then slips back to 1919, to Tarleton, Georgia, where a young officer, Andy McKenna , first sets eyes on Ailie Calhoun.
