Most of us assume basic human rights such as freedom of speech, belonging to political parties and joining Trade Unions. In this series John Tusa introduces people who have suffered under political repression.
Mukhtar Rana from Pakistan has been in jail about 25 times in the past 25 years for his human rights campaigning. Eventually he was told: ' Look, you know the inside of every prison in Pakistan. Choose one or leave Pakistan altogether.'
