Live coverage of the 129th Open championship which returns this year to its spiritual home of St Andrews now that the Old Course is back to its most challenging after recent restoration work.

Once again the world's top golfers will be battling for this prestigious title which was won in dramatic fashion last year by the young Scotsman Paul Lawrie, when he snatched victory from the hands of Frenchman Jean Van de Velde after his series of misjudgements on the 18th. Introduced by Steve Rider.
