The Sounding the Century Lecture

on BBC Radio 3

Six lectures in which leading figures reflect on the most powerful forces for cultural and political change at the end of the century.
3: The Modern Battle of the Sexes
Camille Paglia , one of America's most controversial cultural critics, gives her own provocative account of the course of feminism. She accuses modern theoretical feminists of denigrating motherhood and emasculating manhood. The lecture, recorded at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, is followed by a short and stormy exchange with members of the audience. Beatrix Campbell takes the chair.
