Roy Henderson was educated at Nottingham High School. Since 1930 he has trained the Nottingham Philharmonic Society for its concerts with the Halle under the direction of Sir Hamilton Harty. He sang the solo part in Belshazzar's Feast at the International Festival at Amsterdam in 1933, and he has sung and acted with great success in the Mozart season at Glyndebourne, one of his finest parts being 'Figaro'.
