We all demand services few of us would want to provide. The people who do those jobs live in 'secret' worlds, facing ignorance, suspicion or distaste from those outside. Seventy-five per cent of people who die in our towns and cities are embalmed.
This film examines the work of Alan and John, 'trade embalmers', handling 80-100 cases a week. For them, their job is a service, giving relatives a chance to grieve without shock. But how do they cope with the work itself - and the knowledge that most people would be shocked that they can do it?
