A play by Sylvia Regan.

On the polyglot East Side of New York there is rich material for drama, racy and racial; and Miss Sylvia Regan works her mine happily in "The Golden Door". Here are the Feldermans, a Jewish family newly emigrated, transplanting their old customs to American soil, and giving them a different growth.

We follow them down the years, with Becky the mother always the mainstay of the home. Life in this crowded Jewish apartment, says Miss Regan, is warm, rich, funny, tragic. Little by little, the newly-come Feldermans adapt themselves to America, and there is a constant vivacity about the process. There is always something bubbling on the surface of this melting pot.
