The Money Programme

on BBC Two England

The End of the Beginning
MICHAEL EDWARDES joined British Leyland as chairman just three months ago. In that time he has decided to reverse the most controversial part of the Ryder Plan implemented in 1975. Then Lord Ryder concluded that there should be a ' single integrated car business '. Now Michael Edwardes is recommending a return to the separate car division that failed in 1974. In The Money Programme James Bellini and Moyra Bremner ask whether Edwardes can succeed where others have failed.
