As well as being a brilliant actress Yvonne Arnaud is a fine pianist. When she was a child she gained first prize for piano playing in the Paris Conservatoire, and afterwards she toured Europe and the United States as a youthful prodigy. She made her first stage appearance in 1911 as Princess Mathilde in The Quaker Girl at the Adelphi.
