Golf: Ryder Cup

on BBC Two England

Action from the Belfry, Warwickshire, as Europe's attempt to win back the Ryder Cup from the USA begins with the foursomes. Europe will draw early inspiration from the fact that its players have triumphed over the Americans on both previous occasions when the competition has been held at the Belfry. In 1985 Tony Jacklin led his men to a famous victory to take the trophy away from the Americans for the first time since 1957, and in the contest was halved, with Europe, as holders, retaining the cup by virtue of its win at Muirfield Village in 1987.

Introduced by Steve Ryder, with commentary and analysis by Peter Alliss, Bruce Critchley, Alex Hay, Dave Marr, Clive Clark, Mike Hughesdon, Howard Clark and Mickey Walker.
