Rossini's choral work, which combines operatic drama with deeply felt religious emotions, is given to celebrate the bicentenary of the composer's birth. Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos conducts the BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, with Christine Weidinger (soprano), Ann Murray (mezzo-sop), David Maxwell Anderson (tenor) and Roderick Earle (bass). Given in St David's Hall, Cardiff.
