London, 1912: while celebrating the engagement of his suffragette daughter Catherine, Arthur Winslow learns that his son Ronnie has been accused of theft and expelled from a Royal Navy college. Believing in his son's innocence, Arthur sets out to clear his name, but it is to put his health, family and finances under tremendous pressure.
