Power to the People
' Presented by Eric Robson
One nuclear power station a year for the next ten years. That's the Government's programme - starting 1982. Demonstrations in Cornwall, a huge protest march in London -all against the spread of nuclear power stations. Predictable fears maybe.
But what if we don't actually need all that extra electricity. What if the Government and the electricity supply industry have got their sums wrong?
Brass Tacks looks into the growing evidence that the planned nuclear power stations may be a ' bad buy' on straight economic grounds.
