The Future Goes Boom!
In a hundred years' time 90 per cent of the world could be living at much higher than current American standards of living. Each family with two cars, a helicopter and a submarine. So say the Hudson Institute, who are making the most cheerful forecasts about the 21st century - including the boom of Scotland, even though it is at England's expense.
At the centre of this exercise in ' futurology ' is Herman Kahn , whizz-man with an IQ that no one can equal.
But does it really reflect what is most likely to happen, or is it a commercial propaganda exercise? Narrator PAUL vaughan
