World Zoos: Berlin

Introduced by James Fisher.
In 1939 Berlin claimed to have the largest zoo in the world. The collection of some 4,000 animals was almost completely destroyed in World War II, but such has been the speed of recovery that West Berliners can today enjoy a collection second only to London's in variety.
