Myra Savage , a professional medium, lives in a fantasy world on the edge of madness. Her contact with the other side is through her dead son, Arthur, while her weak, devoted husband Billy shields her from the harsh realities of the outside world. But how is she to gain public recognition of her powers, so long overdue? Myra has a plan. The plan involves kidnapping the daughter of a wealthy industrialist, and faking spirit guidance in order to discover the child. But there are forces at work that neither Billy nor Myra can control.
