Trouble Brewing

on BBC Two England

Continues the season of films starring George Formby, one of Britain's most popular film comedians. Today with Googie Withers

'I'm not as daft as I look', says George Gullip - and proceeds to prove his claim. George is a newspaper compositor and an amateur sleuth so, when the police are baffled by a gang of counterfeiters, he devises an ingenious plan to trap the crooks... Formby is in fine form as the love-sick hero, and finds time to sing several songs - including 'Fanlight Fanny' - on the way to a hectic finale in a brewery.
