A Concert for Mary Rose Mary Rose , the beautiful sister of Henry VIII , lived in the troubled years preceding the Reformation. On the death of her first husband, Louis XII of France, she returned to England and was married to Charles Brandon , Duke of Suffolk. This concert, devised as if for her entertainment, reflects the musical riches of a period when the King himself was an accomplished composer. Circa 1500
