Catherine Wendol (soprano)   Catherine Wendol , the soloist in this concert, was born in London of Welsh parentage. She won a London County Council scholarship, which enabled her to study at the Royal Academy of Music, where she gained the highest awards with distinction, and where she was subsequently appointed a sub-professor for singing. She is well known on the concert platform and as a singer in oratorio, both in London and the provinces. She has toured in grand opera and has sung the rôle of Gretel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel.
