PROVOST CARSTAIRS has been intimately connected with and has done much pioneering work for the fishing industry, and has for some years been a member of the Fishery Board for Scotland. He is keen on the change over which is imminent from the present type of craft to more modern and economic types. He is Provost of the United Burghs of Kilrenny, Anstruther Easter and Anstruther Wester , one of the progressive Ports on the East Coast of Scotland. He is Chairman of the Harbour Commissioners for the Port of Anstruther.
