Stephen Grenfell is the storyteller in...
True stories of the world we live in.
During the film slump seven years ago Herbert Smith, a producer, found himself redundant and closed up his office at Denham Studios. Five years ago he was selling ice-cream at Westgate-on-Sea. He thought he was finished with films. His wife Pamela had other ideas. Today he is back at the top again as a producer with the successful Tommy Steele Story to his credit. Tonight's programme reconstructs the story of a man who 'came back.'
