Windram, Director of Music, Coldstream Guards
Any who listened to ' Monday Night at Eight' on April 21 will now be inclined to look upon Captain Windram as something of an old friend as well as something of a personality. In that broadcast, in which he was interviewed by ' Quiz ', he told how he was only the tenth musical director of the Coldstream Guards Band since its formation in 1783, when it consisted of twelve musicians imported from Hanover. The band now numbers over sixty, including string and dance-band combinations.
Captain Windram also reminded listeners of the pre-war visits of the Band to Paris-and to Vichy ! — as well as of the great impression they made at the World's Fair in New York in 1939.

This new series will again introduce Addie Seamon 's crazy boy-friend Wilbur, who always has a date, but never keeps it. And thereby hangs a tale. Rupert and Elsie will be bringing along Hilarius, the only parrot in the world with a sense of humour. He always sees the point of Rupert's gags when they are four minutes old! Once again the gang will be welcoming a whole gallery of famous visitors, and one of these Wednesday nights Richard ' Stinker' Murdoch has promised to come along. In fact, were it possible, 'Quiet, Please !' is likely to be better than ever.
