Although it is the big game of Africa which attracts most of the tourists attention, the continent has a wonderful variety of birds. In Nairobi, a colony of herons has chosen to nest close to the railway station. At another heronry, on Lake Victoria, the herons share their nesting site with ibises, spoonbills, and cattle egrets.
