'The blackened Angel' on top of Burslem Town Hall was a familiar figure to Arnold Bennett , when writing his famous novels about the six towns that make up the Potteries.
This year Burslem celebrated its Golden Jubilee by giving the town a face-lift. During the past six months the combined efforts of the Civic Trust and the local inhabitants have transformed the centre of the town-and 'the Angel' got a face-lift.
