A dramatised documentary by John Prebble.

Tonight's dramatised documentary by John Prebble
In spite of the break-down of social prejudice over the past few years, it is still not possible to 'ignore the undertones of fear and misunderstanding that arise from the phrase 'mental illness.' Although mental hospitals have taken the place of lunatic asylums, many years of deep-seated dread of such places still produce a kind of psychological shudder in those unfortunate enough to become involved with them for one reason or another.
Tonight's dramatised documentary brings together again the team of writer John Prebble and producer Gilchrist Calder, who were responsible for the highly successful Body Found and The Seventh Age last year. They have taken this time the case of a man who, suffering from the common malady today of overwork and overstrain, has been subjected to a course of treatment at a hospital, and who, at the beginning of the story, is about to be discharged. But this does not mean he is cured. The elements in his life which have been responsible for his break-down in the first place are still very much there when he returns to his family and his job, where the prospect of promotion is to depend very largely on his successful rehabilitation.
