This work, which receives its first performance tonight, is the first piece to be commissioned jointly by the BBC and Bristol Corporation for the Bristol Proms. Jonathan Harvey's main works to date are an opera, A Full Moon in March, and four cantatas for voices and instruments - the third was written for the Pierrot Players and the fourth, for choir and orchestra, was commissioned for the 1969 Three Choirs Festival
