2/3. Lynne Truss looks atthe revolutionary impact of everyday things. The Baby Buggy. Most babies born in the 1950s would have first seen the outdoor world from a pram built like a coach. This was perfect if you lived on the ground floor and didn't want to go far, but with the advent of high-rise living and package holidays, hefty prams were a problem. In 1965, Owen Maclaren , grandparent and retired test pilot, used his engineering knowledge to invent the umbrella-folding buggy. Design guru James Dyson and new mum Sophie Raworth salute the baby-buggy boom. Producer Erika Wright
