In October last year Jean began a six-month prison sentence for falsifying the accounts at the company where she worked as a book-keeper, defrauding her employers of several hundred pounds. Jan Brookes followed her through her last week ' inside ' and first three weeks ' outside ' - to discover how she coped with freedom - getting used to the mformality of normal life after the rigid routine of jail, trying to find a job in an employers' market and reestablishing relationships with friends and family.
