The first of four reports from the Calypso on her recent visit to the Antarctic.

When Cousteau sails to the coldest, windiest and most treacherous of all continents, it's more than just a diving expedition beneath icebergs that could at any time collapse. Calypso's crew rebuild the skeleton of a blue whale and search for fossils. They attempt to bathe in Antarctic waters that are too hot even for a paddle, and turn mountaineers.
