Nearly every adult person has experienced a sexual problem at some time or other. It can take many forms, from the frigidity that often follows pregnancy, to the fear of impotence in middle-aged men. It has been estimated that one in 12 women suffer from frigidity and one in 20 men from impotence.

Yet such are the taboos surrounding this subject that few of these people talk about their problems. Even fewer think that there is any real treatment available.

Tonight's Horizon looks at the range of possible treatments and, to see how effective they can be, includes four people who decided to do something about their problem.
