Alex and Susannah settle into island life, but it’s not all plain sailing.

It has been nine months since Alex and Susannah left London for the Outer Hebrides, and they are beginning to settle into island life. However, it’s not all plain sailing for the young couple.

It has been nine months since Alex and Susannah left London for their new life in the Outer Hebrides, and they are beginning to settle into island life. Alex gets a traditional crofting job cutting seaweed, while Susannah starts work at the local art centre. However, it’s not all plain sailing for the young couple as they face delays on their house build, Susannah comes to terms with her unhappy childhood, and Alex faces the harsh, life-and-death reality of crofting life.

A couple and their young son move from their inner-city home in London to a wild croft in the Outer Hebrides.

Alexander, his fiancé Susannah, and their little boy Cedar are moving from their inner-city home in London to a wild croft in the Outer Hebrides. But with ten acres of uncultivated land, limited funds and a house to build, can their dream life become a reality? Susannah grew up on the island but never felt like she belonged. Now she wants to go back to give her son a better life. For city boy Alex, who will be the only black guy on the island, it will be an adventure into the unknown.
