He was charged with conspiracy to obtain and disclose national defence information

Assange is due to appear in court in the Northern Mariana Islands, a US territory in the south Pacific, on Wednesday morning.

Julian Assange, who exposed US wars secrets online, has reached a plea agreement to end the United States' long-running legal case against him. He has left prison in the United Kingdom and is currently on a plane. We'll talk to one Australian politician who has supported  him.
